Position Purpose

The Associate Director of Preconstruction, Design & Construction (D&C) provides preconstruction expertise in the implementation and management of a program level budgeting system of capital projects. This position provides cost estimating, interim budget verification during the design process, budget tracking, cost modeling, and oversight on corporate development projects and initiatives revolving around presentations, reports, trends, and analysis. The position develops a program level cost history repository and researches market conditions in the preparation of capital budgets for multi-year initiatives as identified by operations. The position reviews plans and specifications with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and operations to validate accuracy of estimates. The position develops preconstruction schedules and reviews with D&C personnel, designers, contractors, and vendors. The position works with 3rd party consultants to track group purchasing contracts, projected spend, actual spend, and reporting of effectiveness of sourcing programs through the Design & Construction Department and within the Enterprise.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Manages owner consultants, contractors and vendors through pre-construction and cost estimating process.
  • Assists in the required regulatory notifications and impact regarding project costs and schedules.
  • Analyzes estimates and quotes from general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Provides project and program management services on capital improvement projects.
  • Assesses materials, labor, and equipment required for a construction project to determine if scope of work is satisfactory for stated project goals and related costs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Architecture, Interior Design, or Civil Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years in the construction field with strong emphasis in developing project budgets.
  • Healthcare experience required.
