POSITION PURPOSE

The BI/Data Warehousing Analyst II assists in data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. This position assists in the development, maintenance, and support of an enterprise data warehouse applications and corresponding data marts and troubleshoots existing data warehouse applications. The BI/Data Warehousing Analyst II performs data warehouse design and construction and creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse. This position develops business intelligence applications that meet all current BI architecture standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Designs, builds, configures and tests software systems and solutions.
  • Designs documentation.
  • Develops applications.
  • Performs preliminary testing.
  • Participates in testing process.
  • Supports system deployment.
  • Creates technical documentation.
  • Executes end-user training and documentation.
  • Develops appropriate program and systems documentation.
  • Prepares and implements data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse.
  • Creates index and view scripts.
  • Keeps updated through industry-related materials, periodicals, associations and the internet.
  • Understands and utilizes the company resource structure.
  • Codes and documents scripts and stored procedures.
  • Designs and implements data strategy methods.
  • Develops strategies and aligns work to achieve goals.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as requested to support needs of organization.
  • Networks with co-workers to share best practices.
  • Must Live in Birmingham AL. This is not a remote position.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

License or Certification:

  • Valid state driver's license.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.


Familiar with:

  • Systems development life cycle for packaged applications
  • Business requirements definition and documentation
  • System design
  • Software development
  • Common system and user acceptance testing procedures
  • System deployment
  • Technical documentation
  • End user training execution and documentation


Familiar with regulatory compliance:

  • HIPAA
  • Medicare
  • CMS
  • Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Privacy and Security
  • Database Developer requirements:
  • Database developers will have prerequisite technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Oracle Database Platform
  • MS SQL Server Database Platform
  • SQL / PL/SQL / Transact-SQL
  • Light Unix Shell Scripting
  • Light MS Batch Scripting
  • Performance tuning
  • Query optimization
  • Database modeling and design
  • Data validation
  • BI developer requirements:
  • BI developers will have prerequisite functional knowledge in one or more of the following technologies:
  • Hyperion Reports
  • Hyperion Essbase
  • Oracle Database Platform
  • MS SQL Server Database Platform
  • Other BI technologies
  • BI Developers will have prerequisite functional knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • User Interface design
  • OLAP design
  • Cube design
  • Process re-engineering
  • ETL
