Position Purpose:

The Human Resources Business Partner provides consultative services in areas such as employee relations, performance management, and compensation to multiple departments within home office; provides sound guidance on investigations, state and federal laws, and employment practices; provides counsel to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices and identifies a need for new policies, processes, and practices; and works on projects aligned with the goals of the human resources department and business objectives.

This is an in office role at our Home Office in Birmingham, AL

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Maintains communication with home office management.

Organizes and manages records for transactions and projects within home office management system.

Processes transactions within employee life cycle within home office management system.

Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.

Meets with external departments as appropriate regarding employee investigations.

Provides coaching and counseling to managers on a broad range of HR related issues and problems.

Helps managers create/share/consistently apply performance practices and/or progressive discipline.

Actively promotes cross-team collaboration and information sharing.

Identifies cause/effect and addresses root cause of issues, leading to sound decisions and judgment.

Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting employee relations.

Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

Assists in HRD and HRBP development through Regional calls/Advisory calls.

Looks for opportunities to streamline processes to allow HR Business Partners to be more strategic.



License or Certification:

PHR and/or SPHR or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe required

Minimum Qualifications:

BA or BS degree in Human Resources, Personnel Administration, Business Administration or related field required or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 2-3 years of Human Resources experience is required.

Computer experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet and PowerPoint required.
