Quality/Risk Coordinator
Partners with the Director to assess compliance regulatory and accreditation standards.
Facilitates processes to remediate and/or maintain compliance.
Complies with federal, state and industry regulations.
Assists in writing corrective action plans and assessments (i.e. TJC PPR).
Write corrective action plans and assessments for regulatory and accrediting bodies within required timeframes. Assists in monitoring hospital compliance with corrective action plans.
Uses current statistical tools and techniques in an effort to identify improvement opportunities.
Compiles data in usable formats for analysis against appropriate benchmarks.
Assists in establishing and maintaining performance improvement activities.
Handles daily risk management activities and compliance processes.
Handles the completion of incident reports, notice of potential claims, corrective action planning and incident reporting to
Corporate Risk Manager.
Completes monthly online reporting to Corporate Risk Management within required timeframe.
Handles complaint investigations, verbal and written complaint follow-up, corrective action planning and maintenance of complaint log.
Ensures that verbal and written follow up occurs within required timeframe and in accordance with Corporate Risk
Management policies.
Collaborates with other departments to coordinate care and promptly solve customer concerns.
Resolves complaints as outlined in the Company Corporate Patient Complaint/grievance policy.
Maintains appropriate documentation of performance improvement and Governing Body activities.
Maintains minutes, supporting data, logs and all related documents in accordance with state and federal law.
Maintain appropriate documentation of Quality Council, performance improvement activities, MEC and Governing Body activities.
Uses a variety of applications to identify improvement opportunities and generate reports.
Uses PatCom, USD, ORYX, and the patient experience vendor.
Researches issues, identifies resources and accesses external databases.
Maintains and facilitates the time review of the hospital contract services provider log.
Provides departments with updates to facilitate timely review of contract terms for renewal consideration.
Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.
Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.
Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints or harassment immediately.
Credentials:
Licensed or certified according to individual state requirement
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
Quality and/or risk management experience, including performance improvement activities, regulatory compliance, conflict
resolution and risk management activities.
Machines, Equipment Used:
General office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.
Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.
Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements. Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.
Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch are required for patient care functions and in setting up and monitoring
equipment.
Skills and Abilities:
Oral communication, written communication, fluency in English, active listening.
Information ordering, deductive reasoning, social perceptiveness, time management, critical thinking.
Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.
Environmental Conditions:
• Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure.
• Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
• Handicapped accessible.
• May work under stressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or Productivity Standards:
• Has regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Adheres to dress code including wearing ID badge.
• Adheres to Standards of Business Conduct.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.
• May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
• Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e., before, during or after a disaster.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
