This program is designed with a purpose: to encourage certification in areas most relevant to our patients, while rewarding our therapists for their commitment. By providing recognition, bonuses, and pay increases for earning certifications, we invest directly in our people, reduce turnover and contract labor costs, and, most importantly, enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.

What the Program Includes

Through this program, therapists are recognized and rewarded when they achieve advanced certifications across a range of specialties, including:

• Geriatrics, Neurology, and Orthopedics (APTA) – 10-year expiration
• Board Certification in Gerontology (AOTA) – 5-year expiration
• Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation (AOTA) – 5-year expiration
• Specialty Certification in Feeding, Eating & Swallowing (AOTA) – 5-year expiration
• Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing (ASHA) – 5-year expiration
• PTA Advanced Proficiency Awards (APTA) – 10-year expiration
  
  

Support for certification goes beyond recognition. Depending on hospital leadership, financial assistance may be provided for exam fees, preparation courses, and renewal costs, ensuring therapists have the resources they need to succeed.

And the rewards don’t stop with professional growth. Upon completion of a certification, eligible therapists receive pay increases and bonuses, further reinforcing our commitment to both personal and career advancement, so you are always rewarded for your unwavering hard work as an Encompass Health employee.
