Position Purpose
The Cash Accounting and Control (CAC) Specialist performs, supports, and ensures accurate and timely cash account reconciliations in accordance with company policy and procedure and GAAP. This position will have performed company bank reconciliations for at least one year, or have commensurate experience. The CAC Specialist supports the department to ensure process control and compliance, delivers high-level customer service, and responds timely to field and Home Office inquiries. The CAC Specialist will assist teammates and management in building creative solutions to data and timing issues to meet deadlines for completing reconciliations and resolving reconciling items.
Responsibilities & Tasks
· Under immediate supervision, performs monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations.
· Assists with gathering information necessary to perform reconciliations.
· Complies with Company policies/ procedures and GAAP.
· Works closely with teammates to recognize and report operational issues.
· Escalates issues to the Cash Accounting and Control Supervisor and Director.
· Understands and utilizes company resources where appropriate.
· Networks with co-workers to learn best practices.
·This position must sit at our Home Office in Birmingham, AL
