Corporate Finance Student Intern - Summer 2027

POSITION PURPOSE

The Corporate Finance Student Intern will be a rotational assignment in which the candidate would spend 2 to 3 weeks working in Development, Treasury, Investor Relations and Business Analytics. The department intern will be responsible for all assigned work, projects and all other duties as assigned by the manager. The intern will be required to participate in all activities and to participate in the final presentation at the end of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASK

• Development  

  • Track and analyze trends in markets of interest.
  • Conduct a case study for an approved project to familiarize interns with market analysis tools used in selecting both a market and a property within that market.
  • Meet with department leaders who contribute to a de novo project, such as real estate, design and construction, operations and many others.
  • Observe meetings with JV partners, real estate brokers (including site visits when available), and other internal meetings that occur throughout the progression of a project.
• Treasury / Corporate Finance 
  • Develop financial models for a de novo hospital, including ROI analysis.
  • Complete various analytical projects utilizing risk management data, Bloomberg data, and banking data.
  • Observe departmental meetings related to corporate finance and treasury management.
• Investor Relations 
  • Conduct peer analyses for prior quarters with focus areas on specific strategic topics.
  • Analyze sell-side analyst models, research reports, and surveillance data.
  • Observe earnings preparation processes and review historical IR materials, including the Investor Reference Book, sustainability report, and other website resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be actively enrolled in a college or university (Junior/Senior level students are preferred) pursuing a bachelor's in finance or business
• Must have an interest in department in which they are interning
• Class experience in prospective field is preferred
• Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to work in our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama from Monday, June 7th, 2027, to Friday, July 30, 2027
