Position Purpose
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key finance leader responsible for enterprise-level budgeting, weekly and quarterly forecasting, corporate financial modeling, and executive reporting. The Director serves as a strategic partner to the SVP, Finance and works closely with Investor Relations, Accounting, and Treasury to support external reporting, earnings preparation, and senior leadership decision-making. The role manages a Senior Financial Analyst and plays a critical role in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to executive management and the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead the development, consolidation, and analysis of the company's annual budget and weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts. Oversee the quarterly consolidated financial models for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow. Ensure internal forecasts align with externally communicated guidance and performance narratives.
- Provide variance analysis, root-cause explanations, and forward-looking insights to senior leadership. Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making.
- Partner closely with Investor Relations to help prepare for quarterly earnings calls, including earnings materials, talking points, and analytical support. Support preparation of earnings decks, scripts, Q&A support materials, and internal briefing documents.
- Prepare executive-level financial presentations for the Board of Directors, CEO, CFO, and senior leadership. Deliver clear, concise insights on performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Works with Financial Systems, Consolidation and Internal Reporting personnel to create reporting
- Directly manage and develop a Senior Financial Analyst.
- Foster a culture of analytical rigor and continuous improvement.
- This is an in-office position based in Birmingham, Alabama
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA preferred.
- 8-12+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience, preferably in a publicly traded company.
