Collaborate with hospital leadership to assess educational needs, strategize effective plans, and contribute to policy development and equipment integration. The Hospital Clinical Educator/Employee Health Coordinator, RN is responsible for developing and monitoring the employee health program, coordinating the Workers' Compensation program, evaluating and making recommendations for individual employee/patient care needs, analyzing and interpreting collected employee health data, reporting significant trends to the multidisciplinary Patient Safety and Infections Control Committees, conducting investigations and surveillance of suspected outbreaks of employee infection, assuring compliance with JC, CDC, OSHA, and other federal and state standards and guidelines as appropriate.

Become the Hospital Educator/Employee Health Coordinator you always knew you could be
- Coordinate staff completion of BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Manage the equipment and skills stations needed for BLS and ACLS training.
- Assist in coordination of clinical rotations and student orientation packet completion.
- Train staff in new hire orientation and assist in general hospital orientation.
- Assist with staff training.
- Coordinate preceptor program.
- Facilitate the implementation of new competencies and equipment.
- Provide education on compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Ensure training requirements and standards for Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies are met.
- Functions as Employee Health Nurse/First Responder on designated shift.
- Manages and monitors Employee Health activities and Workers' Compensation claims and costs.
- Administers annual PPD screening for all employees, students, and volunteers.
- Assesses, on a yearly basis, the health status of all employees.
- Investigates employee accident claims; provides follow-up intervention per policy and WC laws.
- Manages invoices, check requests, WC billings, and expense reports in a timely/accurate manner.
- Directs case management of hospital's employees for work related injuries and illnesses.
- Partners with insurance company and Occupational Health Service Centers in expediting employee care.
- Manages light duty assignments and return to work program.
- Assesses physical ability to perform job essentials, partnering with treating clinicians.
- Maintains all appropriate employee health records and develops policies.
- Maintains complete confidentiality in regard to knowledge of employee health records.
- Conducts in-service programs for health of employees on all three shifts.
- Promptly responds to the needs of employee patients.
- Manages new hire employee health process, providing welcome as a first-line image of the hospital.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to effectively and successfully execute position responsibilities.
- Develops hospital leadership staff expertise in the area of employee health.
- Assesses/provides basic treatment and documents care provided to employees.
- Communicates appropriately with employees, supervisors, and other customers.
- Holds staff accountable for following established employee health policies and procedures.
- Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.
- Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
- Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.
- Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints or harassment immediately.
Qualifications
- Active clinical license.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Appropriate education to obtain and maintain required licensure.
- Preferred: Previous experience as an Educator.
- CPR certification.
- If a Registered Nurse, CRRN certification preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, or nights as needed.
