Position Purpose

The Corporate Communication Specialist provides a broad range of skills to support the company's marketing and communications plan. This position uses project management in support of several communication channels; creating content for various messages; contributing to the company's internal communications strategy; and coordinating employee events and community-based projects.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Supports the employee app by creating and posting engaging and personable content.
  • Manages employee app access troubleshooting.
  • Encourages employee app adoption.
  • Manages the intranet News Hub
  • Maintains the News Hub's editorial schedule
  • Drafts new content and/or edits submitted content to promote one consistent voice in messaging.
  • Archived posted News Hub content.
  • Manages Marketing and Communications departmental intranet site.
  • Posts relevant site content.
  • Performs periodic content audits.
  • Sources feedback to maintain the site to meet employee and company leadership needs.
  • Uses email distribution software to format various department newsletters and one-off messages.
  • Works with Creative to establish timelines and workflows for supporting graphics and media needs.
  • Coordinates employee and community relations events.
  • Oversees volunteer committee's participation in quarterly events and tracks volunteer hours.
  • Monitors and responds to questions, suggestions and concerns submitted through feedback hotlines.
  • Works with corporate departments as appropriate to develop responses.
  • Writes and edits content for various communications channels as needed.
  • Supports other Marketing & Communications projects as needed.
  • Uses project management skills to create and maintain timelines for task execution.
  • This position must sit at our Home Office in Birmingham, AL


Qualifications

License or Certification:

  • None


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in communications or related field.
  • Project management experience preferred.
