Student Intern- Finance (Summer 2025)

POSITION PURPOSE
The Finance Student Intern will be a rotational assignment in which the candidate would spend 2 to 3 weeks working in Development, Treasury, Investor Relations and Business Analytics. The department intern will be responsible for all assigned work, projects and all other duties as assigned by the manager. The intern will be required to participate in all activities and to participate in the final presentation at the end of the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Treasury
- Participate in cross-functional projects and administrative support in areas including Credit Card management, Treasury Banking Functions (Shadowing daily cash reporting process), Leasing Interest Reports, and Central Business Office Support.
- Investor Relations
- Assist with preparing internal and external documents in conjunction with the Company's quarterly earnings process
- Aggregate operational and financial information across functional departments by communicating with members of senior leadership
- Review financial models from sell-side analysts
- Development
- Assist in the evaluation and prioritization of new development opportunities
- Track and analyze trends in markets of interest
- Draft internal communication documents highlighting key conclusions
- Business Analytics
- Assist in providing Corporate Finance support and analysis for various internal departments
- Assist in preparing reports to illustrate trends, cash flows, and possible risks of various capital allocation alternatives within the company
- Review and report on returns within the company's investment portfolio, including comparisons to relevant benchmarks
- Complete all task and assignments accurately and timely
- Proactively seeks to learn about the company and the department
- Participates in all intern specific activities (if applicable)
- Create and present presentation on job skills learned (if applicable)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled in a college or university (Junior/Senior level students are preferred) pursuing a bachelor's in finance or business
- Must have an interest in department in which they are interning
- Class experience in prospective field is preferred
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Interns must be able to work in our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama from Monday, June 2, 2025 to Thursday, July 31st, 2025.
