Everything is close.
San Angelo is compact and easy to navigate, with Loop 306 wrapping the city and most drives under 15 minutes—so more of your day goes to the things you’d rather be doing. San Angelo Regional Airport offers daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, and Highway 87 and Interstate 10 put Austin, San Antonio and the Hill Country within a few hours when you’re ready for a weekend away.

Water in West Texas.
Three lakes—Nasworthy, O.C. Fisher and Twin Buttes—ring the city, and the Concho River runs through the middle of it, which locals will tell you isn’t something they expected to find out here. San Angelo State Park covers more than 7,000 acres of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, and the riverwalk downtown is where you can walk, run and watch the sunset.

February brings the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the largest in Texas. Summer means concerts and fireworks on the river, and the International Waterlily Collection draws visitors from around the world in September.
